The effect of GnPs and curing condition on the flexural properties of epoxy/XNBR composite

Abstract

The goal of this study is to investigate the main and simultaneous effects of graphene nano-platelests (GnPs) and carboxylated nitrile butadiene rubber (XNBR) on tensile strength and Young’s modulus of epoxy systems. To evaluate mechanical properties, tensile test was performed in room temperature. Further, scanning electron microscope (SEM) was used to observe the state of nano-particles dispersion. The experimental test showed that the composition include 0.75 wt.% GnPs and 5 wt.% XNBR have the best mechanical properties among all ternary nanocomposites.
